How to Use the Online Digital Scoreboard

Our free Online Scoreboard is a simple, uncluttered digital score counter designed for sports competitions, classroom games, and recreational tournaments. Operating entirely inside your web browser, it lets you track scores and countdown timers in a clean layout without distracting clutter.

  • Score Tracking: Use the prominent +1, +2, +3, and -1 buttons below each team card to instantly update scores.
  • Custom Team Names: Click directly on the team titles (defaulted to HOME and GUEST) to type any custom team names.
  • Game Clock & Timer: Click START to run the game clock, PAUSE to freeze time during plays, or Set Time (or click the clock display) to enter custom minutes.
  • Fullscreen Display Mode: Click Toggle Fullscreen to project the scoreboard across your entire monitor, television, or projector screen.

Tips for Tournament Management

Get the most out of your game management with these simple best practices:

  • Automatic Local Saving: Every score increment, timer setting, and team name edit is instantaneously saved to browser local storage (localStorage). If you refresh your page or close your laptop lid, your exact game state will be waiting right where you left off.
  • Quick Reset: Click Reset Game at any time to restore scores, names, and the timer back to defaults.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this scoreboard on my tablet or mobile phone?

Yes! The online scoreboard is built with responsive CSS layouts and touch-optimized buttons. You can open it on iPads, Android tablets, or smartphones to referee games from the sidelines.

How do I set a custom game timer duration?

Click the Set Time button or click directly on the digital clock digits when paused to enter any custom number of minutes.

Will my game scores be lost if the browser tab refreshes?

No! Because the tool automatically synchronizes all scores, names, and timer values with HTML5 Web Storage, your game data remains safely preserved across page reloads until you explicitly click Reset Game.
