How to Use the Online Flashlight

Our free **Online Flashlight** transforms your smartphone, tablet, or laptop into a powerful illumination source in seconds. Designed with dual-mode support, it can activate your mobile device's rear camera LED torch or convert your entire display into a bright, white full-screen lamp.

  • Flash Light Mode: Uses modern browser media permissions (`navigator.mediaDevices`) to turn on your phone's rear camera LED flash. When prompted by your browser, tap "Allow" to enable hardware torch control.
  • Screen Light Mode: Maximizes screen brightness by expanding a clean, pure white background across your entire display in full-screen mode. This works on any device—including desktop computers, laptops, and tablets without camera flashes!
  • Spacebar Shortcut: On keyboards, simply press the Spacebar to instantly toggle the light on or off.
  • Battery Monitor: Keeps you informed of your device's remaining battery percentage in real time so you don't accidentally drain your power in the dark.
  • Wake Lock Support: Automatically enables the Screen Wake Lock API to prevent your device from falling asleep while the flashlight or reading lamp is active.

How to Enable Disabled Camera Flashlight Permissions

If your camera flash doesn't turn on automatically, your browser may have blocked camera access. Follow these simple steps to re-enable it:

  • Google Chrome (Android / Desktop): Tap the lock or camera icon in the address bar > select Site Settings or Permissions > set Camera to Allow, then reload the page.
  • Apple Safari (iOS / iPhone / iPad): Open your device Settings > scroll down to Safari > tap Camera > select Allow.
  • Windows 10 / 11: Go to Windows Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera > ensure let desktop apps access your camera is turned on for your web browser.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this flashlight app record video or take photos?

No! While the browser asks for camera permission to access the physical LED hardware torch, all video processing remains strictly local in your browser's memory. We never record, capture, or transmit any video stream or photos to our servers.

Why can't I use the Flash Light mode on my laptop?

Most laptop and desktop webcams do not have a physical LED flash/torch built into the camera module. On devices without a camera flash, simply click Screen Light to use your monitor as a bright, full-screen white lamp.

How do I make the Screen Light as bright as possible?

When you activate Screen Light mode, our tool automatically expands to fill your entire screen with solid white. For maximum illumination, manually turn up your device's screen brightness slider to 100% in your system settings.
