About the Child Height Predictor
This calculator uses the Mid-Parental Height formula to estimate a child's future adult height based on the parents' heights. This is a common and simple method used by pediatricians.
For Boys: Add 5 inches (13 cm) to the mother's height, add the father's height, and divide by 2.
For Girls: Subtract 5 inches (13 cm) from the father's height, add the mother's height, and divide by 2.
Note: This is an estimate. Nutrition, genetics, and environment all play a role in a child's final adult height. Most children will reach an adult height within 2 inches (5 cm) of this prediction.
